Your challenge in these puzzles is to turn the top DNA sequence into the bottom sequence.
You have two mutating tools available to you: transition mutations and transversion mutations.
To choose your mutation tool, click the transition or the transversion button to set the type of mutation.
The active type of mutation will be denoted by a white background color.
Next click and hold on a DNA base to apply the selected mutation to the base.

Transition mutations will always cause the same kind of change:
A turns into G, G turns into A, C turns into T, and T turns into C.
Most mutations are transition mutations!

The other kind of mutation are transversions. Each base can be turned into two other bases.
A turns into C or T, and G also turns into C or T.
T turns into A or G, and C also turns into A or G.

In this puzzle, each of the two transversion possibilities for a base are equally likely.
So you might not get the change you were planning for!

When you think you have solved the puzzle, press the Check button. Happy mutating!
